Another all-rounder Jacob Oram is also ruled out for the IPL season. Bret lee the main strike bowler for Punjab returned home even before the start of the game due to injury. Delhi Daredevils is feeling the absence of their captain Gautam Gambhir and pace bowler Asish Nehra.

The first leg of the tournament is almost over and the teams are planning the new strategies. Some of teams may get their core players from Australia, Newsland and Bangladesh as the international commitments of these players are coming to an end by the end of March. The teams which are hit by injuries are also trying to rope in some new players to fill up the vacuum.

The much expected auction for  the two additional teams for the IPL is over and Pune and Cochin are  the new teams which were bought for a whooping amount of 3300 crores  in total by the owners. Sahara won the bid for Pune at$370 million  dollars  and they are planning to rope in many co- owners to mobilize the fund.  As soon as the auction was over, Sahara received many references from  through out the world and also from leading clubs in England for  co-ownership  proposals. Sahara is also planning to issue IPO to raise fund for their  IPL Pune business venture. Rendezvous Sports Limited bought Cochin at  $333.33 million dollars

The IPL was started as an  international  cricketing event in India, but now it has now become as a very big  industry.  Cricket in India is virtually converted as a money spinning trade as  funds are flowing with out any limitation. The government of India is  expected to realize more than 200 crores as tax this year from IPL.
